world cup records

The stage of world cup means the joining of ten or more teams, all the exciting matches, after which only one of them becomes the world champion, but the World Cup means a lot. Break a lot. So many international cricket teams are facing each other, how many new records will be made, that is surprising! And making records means breaking old records. The 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup also witnessed many such twists and turns. Let's take a look at the most important of them-
                         Most runs
record for most runs in a World Cup is held by Sachin Tendulkar, who scored 673 runs in the 2003 World Cup. Exactly twenty years later, that record was broken again, by Virat Kohli. Kohli's collection of 765 runs in this World Cup. Along with this, Kohli broke another record of Sachin in the A-World Cup - the record of most hundred runs in one-day cricket. Sachin scored 49 hundreds. Virat passed that Milestone too, scoring his 50 hundreds in one-day.

Fastest fifty wickets in World Cup
Hardik Pandya could not play due to injury. Mohammed Shami started playing in the team instead of him. And from the beginning he showed his bowling bash. Mohammed Shami took five wickets twice and seven wickets once. Two new records have been set on that basis. First, he has taken a total of 50 wickets in all the World Cups he has played (24 in the 2023 World Cup alone). And this is the fastest half-century by a bowler in World Cup cricket so far. Second, the greatest bowling figures by an Indian bowler in one-day cricket is now under Shami - his 7/57 against New Zealand.

                        Captain's run
Rohit Sharma holds the record for most runs as a captain in a World Cup with 597 runs. There is also a century. Rohit broke Sachin Tendulkar's record by scoring 131 runs against Afghanistan. Before this Sachin held the record for most hundred runs in the World Cup with the number of 6. Rohit now has 7. Again, the record of maximum six in this World Cup belongs to Rohit.

                     For the Sixth time!
Australia in 1987 won the World Cup for the first time defeating England . Since then, Australia has won the World Cup once every decade - 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015 and 2023. Invincible Australia set up a record of winning The World Cup for six times. Only two teams have won the World Cup more than once - West Indies (twice) and India (twice).
Apart from these there are also some minor records being achieved but they aren't as important as these ones.
